Adult Bible Fellowships
We know it can be difficult for you to feel that you are a part of a large family. So, we try to break our church family into smaller groups, our Adult Bible Fellowships. On Sundays at 9:45 AM, there are small group studies for men, women, couples, and senior saints. You can choose from among 8 to10 classes. Informed instruction, Spirit-empowered guidance, and relevant teaching are the objectives of all our adult classes. We welcome your participation in any one of our classes.
Fellowship
- From getting together in class to regular class activities, you will have the opportunity to get to know people and to build relationships.
Prayer
- Time is taken during each class to share needs and pray. Sometimes the burden feels lighter when we know that other people are carrying our burdens in prayer along with us.
Discussion
- Sometimes you have questions. This is a great time to get some of these questions "out on the table".
Teaching God’s Word
- Lessons in class are designed to be practical and relevant. They deal with issues in your everyday life.
Care Giving
- As a smaller group, it allows us to keep better track of members’ needs. Each teacher is able to keep in touch with class members and is available and accessible.
Christian Education Resource Center
An expanding library provides excellent reading materials in many areas pertaining to the Christian life and the study of God’s word for every age group. Our library also features an increasing number of videos and music cassette tapes, which can be checked out.
Membership Class
Membership classes, taught by Pastor Sorber, meet periodically for four to six weeks. During these sessions instruction includes THE MEANING OF SALVATION, BAPTISM, AND CHURCH MEMBERSHIP (2 sessions), as well as the purposes of West Pines Baptist Church and how each potential member can use their gifts in service.
Other events highlight our calendar year such as retreats for fathers and daughters, deacons, couples, and youth. Retreats for men and ladies are planned twice each year. Mission trips are also planned with various agencies always seeking to be of help to those who have a need both spiritually and physically.
Weekly Bible Studies
There are weekly Bible studies available at various times for both men and women. Ironmen is a study just for men, both young and old, that meets on the third Saturday morning of each month. This ministry is based on Proverbs 27:17. Ladies’ Bible studies meet on Wednesday mornings. Adults meet on Wednesday evenings.
