December 2009
Dear Friends,
God is able to do exceeding abundantly above all we could ask or think! Once again, because of your faithfulness, we sent in over 10,000 Christmas Bags to Haiti. New churches got on board and several of the "old" churches increased their giving. God isso good! The container is supposed to be at the dock as I write this letter and the goal is to have it unloaded by Christmas. Please pray for God’s timing in all of this.
We have more pastors than ever asking for Christmas Bags. Whether you sent 1 or 1,000, you are mnaiking a difference in the lives of these children and we thank you.
In Oct. we had two teams go into Haiti, back-to-back, which resulted in us being away from home for nearly the entire month. But, what a great month it was! The team from Lancaster, PA put a roof on one of the schools. They worked very quickly and efficiently and had it up in no time. Then a team fro Pittsburgh worked at EBAC (Alice and Kathy’s orphanage). They installed a new water tank (the toilets will flush now) and built frames for the mattresses that another team had donated. They also built closets in the girl’s dorm. Now each girl has three shelevs to put their things on.
Gloria found some Leap Frog kid’s books at a garage sale and took those with her to teach the kids at EBAC. She was reading a story one day about cake and ice cream and realized the kids had never had ice cream!! She sent Stan on a mission (a pretty big mission since ice cream is not to be found in Haiti and we’ve never even seen an ice cream cart…but God had a plan).
The third place we stopped we found a man with an ice cream machine. We hired him for the day at 30 cents a cone, and passed out about 150 ice cream cones to those kids. Stan had to convicne them that ice cream was gooood! Yummy! We weren’t sure Gloria was going to come home after that.
Seedline had a conference in Sept. We had a great time of food, fellowship, music and preaching.
Another container will be set at Seedline on Dec. 9. This one will be filled with the remaining Christmas bags, food, furniture, thousands of Scriptures, a wringer/washer for EBAC, 25,000 lbs. of food and 2000 pairs of Crocs. Thanks to all who donated these itmes.
Just got word our granddaughter, Amber is expecting. Due in late May early June. Chelsea our other granddaughter won all-county honors in golf and volleyball.
Thank you for all your support this past year, even during the tough times. Please continue to pray for our ministy in the country of Haita and the States.
