Dear Friends,

I thoroughly enjoyed watching the Olympics from Vancouver the past two weeks.  Sunday’s closing ceremonies were filled with celebration, as well as footage of the games truimphs and tragedies.  When it was all said and done the USA won the medal count followed closley by Germany and Canada.

In I Corinthians 9:24-25, with the ancient Olympics of Athens on his mind, the Apostle Paul presented a challenge to those of us who follow Jesus Christ:

"Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize?  Run in such a way to get the prize.  Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training.  They do it to get a crown that will not last, but we do it to get a crown that will last forever."

Ministry and life are a lot like the Olympics; filled with triumph and tragedy.  Please pray for Caymen, a middle school student who trusted Christ at  a Youth for Christ club event (Triumph), only to find out his father unexpectedly died that very same day (Tragedy).  Pray that he might rest in the secure love of his Savior at this time of crisis and loss.

Twenty-four years ago God sent me to the slopes of S. FL with a dream to preach the Gospel to un-reached public-school teenagers.  Your support and commitment is reaching the Caymen’s of this youth culture with the life-changing message of Jesus Christ.  Thanks!
