Hengst, Ian

——In the early months of this year, we made our way through the book of Job in our Senior High Bible study. The plan was to read through the book to get the whole picture, verbalize our observations and summarize what we learned. Some of the things that we learned are that God is in control even when we think He isn’t, that He created things for His desire and will bless His creation as He pleases.

——Lydia enjoyed playing basketball for a few months with friends on a community team. Soccer season followed basketball and she played in the Saturday morning community league. As summer approaches, she will be completing her freshman year of high school.

——Abigail also played basketball this winter on a different team than Lydia so they sometimes played against each other. It was a good experience for her to learn and develop some new skills. She has continued to take guitar lessons and work on her studies in naturopathy. This summer both of our girls will be participating in a mission trip that the youth leadership is planning. The team will be doing Backyard Bible Clubs and service projects in the local area of Coshocton, Ohio; ‘Our Jerusalem’.

——Jethro finished his first year at ABC and he had a few weeks to spend at home with us before going back for the summer to join the Gospel Heralds. This nine member team will travel for 10 weeks this summer ministering in churches with music and drama. You can see their schedule online at www.abc He is considering further education in the Camping Ministry major.

——Several people have looked at buying our house in Ohio. It has been for sale since the end of March as we prepare to move to Missionary Flights in Ft Pierce, Florida. Ian will be assuming the Director of Maintenance position as we described in our last news issue. Lord willing we can be in Ft Pierce, FL this fall.

——Our Summer schedule is busy with VBS, youth mission trip, Aviation Camp, Airventure (Ian will be flying a DC-3 in formation at Oshkosh), life & getting Abigail ready for college. Ian hopes to finish the Cessna 206 project he has been working on by the end of summer. This plane will be on floats and is to be delivered to Brazil for service in the Amazon region.

——THANK YOU so much for your part in our lives through prayer, financial support and special

blessings!!!! Some of you reading this have been with us since the beginning in 1990; where has the time gone? As we face the summer and then make the transition to MFI, we need increased financial support commitments. Our support level has been hovering around 80% of the target for many months. Please consider how you might partner with us by either joining for the first time; changing to regular giving or increasing your current amount. The electronic funds transfer (EFT) option has become a good way for many to be involved.

What has been happening at MMS? Follow me

on a tour of the facility.

The first project we see just inside is a Cessna

206 that is being prepared for service in the

Amazon region of Brazil. It has a new paint job,

a new engine and new radios and is waiting on

a new set of amphibious floats.

Behind it is a Cessna 337 that has two engines.

We have overhauled them and the airplane is

being inspected and prepared for service in

Canada.

As we go through the door into hangar B, we

find a Cessna 402. It is here from Maine to get

a reinforcement installed on the wing spar. The

engines have been removed and the plane is

set on jacks and slings so that it won’t shift while

the work is accomplished. It serves in the Northeast

to bring ‘Good News’ to people in eastern

Canada.

Look to your left and you will see a Cessna 172

that has a fresh paint job, some new interior and

a completed annual inspection. It will be used

this summer at aviation camps to share mission

aviation with high school students.

In hangar C there is another twin Cessna that is

in for annual inspection. It is used by GCI to

reach Chinese people in the US.

Behind it is a Mooney that also came in for an

annual inspection. The mechanics found a

leaky fuel tank which has been resealed and

tested again for leaks. A representative for MAF

will use this for local transportation and recruiting.

Stop by sometime for the visual tour or see our

website for some pictures and blogs!!
