Hello Everyone

It is sprintime here in sunny southern Calif. and we are enjoying the warm days and cool nights, and the smell of orange blossoms and other wonderful fragrances in the air.

December, 2009  We had one meeting in Dec.  It was a privilege to participate in our church choir for the Christmaa program.  Christmas Day was a great day spent with family, and the following Sunday we celebrated Sarah’s birthday at the Spaghetti Factory.  On Dec. 29, we began our trip to Washington State for a meeting with a two-day visit with Jim’s brother and family in NV.

Jan. and Feb. 2010 New Year’s Day saw us on the road to get to WA for our first meeting of the year.  Most Sundays we had meetings, and are very appreciative of the warm fellowship, and great hospitality.  We attended a 3-day conference for pastors and wives.

Mar and April Alethia and Sarah enjoyed the ladies’ retreat at our church camp in March.  Two weeks later it was the guy’s turn.

Recent weeks have been difficult as we have been facing different health issues.  Our son, Daniel (20) is having tests to determine why he is experiencing repeated attacks that resemble gall bladder pain.  In about 2 weeks we will hopefully have an answer.  Jim had a small mole on his neck removed which was positive for melanoma.  The family doctor then referred him to the skin specialist, who rempved more tissue from that area and also another very small mole that had the same beginnings of melanoma.  A separate problem in a routine blood test showed all levels of kidneys functioning below normal, so off to a kidney specialist.  Alethia is having asthma problems which the inhaler is not helping.  She went to a lung specialist.  After several tests it showed a thickening in vocal chords and that side of the larynx is paralized.  A CT scan showed some fluid around the heart which could account for some of her breathing problems.  So, off to the heart specialist.

On April 29, Jim sees about the biopsy results of the tissue removal, and on the 21st he sees the kidney doctor sto see results of those tests.

We are so thankful that the news of our increased support brings us closer to our goal.  Also, 16 new students in the Baptist Seminary of Peru.  Please pray for our health issues and an unspoken request regarding a family matter.

Keep us in your prayers as we are on furlough.
