Mission Field: Haiti and Dominican Republic

September 2009

Dear Faithful Friends,

Summer is here and its is busy as ever!  We flew a record month in June for flight hours, but we have had more mission team cancellations for the rest of the summer with the economy being slow.  Most of our staff recently returned from Oshcosh, WI AirVenture July 25-Aug2, 2009, which allowed us to be a witness to thousands of people.  The theme this year was Fly4Life which encompassed 400 mission aviators throughout the air show.  There was a steady flow of traffic through our Turbine DC3 so we handed out brochures along with a gospel tract to everyone that came by.  Pray the Lord would allow the seeds of the Gospel that were planted to grow.

We were able to see the Lord provide for MFI through a state auction.  The State of FL operated two DC3s for mosquito spraying and recently shut the operation down.  We found out about some spare parts they had up for auction and were able to win the bid.  I ws asked to fly two mechanics and a volunteer to help load some rental trucks.  When we got there, we realized there was so much stuff, that we needed to stay an extra day.  We filled two 26 foot Penske trucks, a trailer, and we still left some behind.

While I was teaching refresher couses for our aviation GPS training, Tammy was directing our church’s children choir presentation of GPS-God’s Plan of Salvation.  It was a great illustration on how we need to trust God for His direction in our lives.

It was my pleasure to baptize my son, Matthew along with four other kids, at the ocean.  This was a very special baptism our church held.

Praise and Prayer:

Praise God for the many conversations about the Lord we were able to have with people at the Oshcosh AirVenture 2009.

One of our DC3s spent 5 months in the Bahamas, in need of an engine.  Praise God that it is home safely and again being used in serving missionaries.

Please pray for the churches struggling financially that had to cancel mission trips this summer in Haiti and the Dominican.

We love and miss you all
