Summer Quarter Update July 2008
Ministry Spotlight
Summertime is here and that means more flights and mission teams. One of the highlights is getting to fly for churches sending the youth groups. On the way home we always try to ask how their week went and we’re excited to hear that many Bahamians started a relationship with Jesus Chrits! The Bahamian missionary leader said there were so many that came forward during the service, that they couldn’t handle it. They had to have a second service the next night.
Family Update
Only a few more weeks until Baby Boy #3 arrives. Tammy’s due date is Aug. 6. She’s feeling really well now, just tired all the time. Her doctor was concerned that her stomach is measuring too small, so he ordered an additional ultrasound. However, the baby’s right on track. I guess being tall comes in handy sometimes! We are still trying to come up with a name. Micah thinks that we should continue with the "M" names and wants to name the baby "Macaroni"! They are both really excited about the miracle of life and how awesome God is! Thy’ve watched the ultrasounds, read books about the baby’s development, and have listened to his heartbeat. We realized the other day that maybe they’ve learned too much - when Matthew said, "My stomach is hurting. I think I’m having contractions!"
Baby Chicks
A couple of weeks ago over 100 chicks were mailed to MFI for one of our 200 mission organizations in Haiti to produce eggs. The problem was they were shipped too early! After figuring out who they went to and trying to keep them alive for a couple of days, they finally made their destination in Cap Hatien, Haiti. We’ve always said those missionaries are resourceful!
Please Pray
July 1, MFI is under new flight and maintenacne rules Part 125 due to the constant changes in Federal Aviation Regulations. Pray as we transition and fulfill the extra required paperwork. We still maintain a "missions and churches only service". Aug. 6, Tammy’s due date. Oct/Nov ‘08 traveling to visit family/supporters with BABY! Haiti gas/diesel prices already approaching $8 a gallon. Praise - the turbine DC3 has been painted and protected from corrosion. Pray - another turbine aircraft is needed soon. MFI has paid an average of $2000 flight to cover extra fuel costs.
We love and miss you all
