Continue earnestly in prayer … that God would open to us a door for the word, to speak the mystery of Christ." (Colossians 4:2-3)
| March 2012
The first quarter of 2012 has been full of opportunities to serve the Lord. Our partnership together in this ministry has extended to places far and near. Thank you for sharing this ministry with us through your prayers and financial investments in the Lord’s work. In January, Jodi and I helped organize and facilitate a global leadership summit for all of our regional leaders around the ABWE world. This annual event is for the purpose of networking, resourcing, vision casting, goal setting, and spiritual encouragement for many on the front lines of spiritual battles. It is the only time in the year that this group of key leaders is together, so we place a high value on this week. In February, I was invited to speak at the Far East Leadership Training Seminar for ABWE missionaries in Asia. This training is designed for field team leaders, and it is offered to them every three years. This year they met in Cambodia. Spending a week with these team leaders was insightful and an honor. They are serving the Lord in incredibly challenging places. Just the numbers themselves are overwhelming to comprehend. Research tells us that there are 6,628 unreached people groups in the world and many or most of them are found in Asia. These groups of people need to hear the gospel message, which has yet to penetrate their communities. May the Lord send laborers! A week after returning from Cambodia, our family went to our home church in Fort Myers, Florida to be a part of their annual missions conference. Their theme was, “Touching the world with the many hands of God”. It was designed to focus on how the entire family can be involved in missions. It was a blessing to serve the Lord together with our children throughout the weekend. The Lord has once again provided a team to return this May to Moldova to teach English at a Bible college. God is using this place of ministry training to equip students for ministry in some of the most difficult places in the world. Many of them will return to their home countries to face heavy persecution for their faith. Please pray for all the details to come together for our team and for the opportunities God will give us to encourage and minister to these young adults. I will need to raise my personal ministry support for this trip which will be approximately $2000. If the Lord would lead you to make a donation specifically for this ministry, you can do so by going to the ABWE website here and making a donation to Jeff Demerly, account number 013123. Thank you! We also appreciate your prayers for our ministries locally. We continue to serve in our local church and are praying about helping to start a new Sunday School class for young families. March will be a full month at the home office with Candidate Seminar for new missionaries and Field Preparation Seminar for missionaries about to leave for their first term of service. Both of these events are very important times in the lives of those who come. Grateful for your partnership together with us in the spread of the gospel, Jeff and Jodi Demerly |
