Dear Friends
We praise the Lord for the start of a New Year for the S FL Awana ministry. We praise the Lord for His protection for our family as we travel so many miles.
On Jan. 21, we will conduct the Trek and Journey Bible Quiz competition for junior and senior high students in Orlando for the entire state of FL. It is amazing how many verses these students can recite and retain as they reveal what they have learned in front of their parents and peers during this competition. The sole purpose for these events is to share the precious gospel of Jesus Christ with all those who attend.
During my recent visit to a new Awana club in Spring Hill, I was able to meet so many enthusiastic leaders and clubbers and a few parents as well. They have experienced amazing growth in their children’s ministry as a result of Awana on Wed. evenings and are running out of classroom space very quickly.
Over the next two months, our region will conduct four regional AwanaGames events. In Jan., our area conducted training meetings for the coaches so they can prepare their students adequately for the regional events in Feb. We always strive to remind our coaches that the competition is great but we must remember that these events are to glorify the Lord and a time when can share the gospel. Our challenge is that each regional event not become so intense that a coach could lose their testimony in front of parents due to the competitive environment. Please pray that all our adult leaders can display a good example in front of their student during the competition.
The Lord is truly blessing our region as we share the gospel during each and every club visit and special event. Your gift help make all this possible.
