Hello Everyone

July-August 2011

Greetings from Trujilli, Peru, here the weather is mostly chilly and overcast these days.  It is our winter here.  Our Bible college, as well as the country’s school system is on winter break.  Second semester will resume the first  week of August.

We are still working between two churches.  Sunday morning we go up in the foothills to Poroto, where our assistant pastor, David Robles, takes care of the ministries during the week.  He lost his sister in a car accident six months ago.  He received strength from the Lord in his time of grief and was an example to his mohter, other sister, and other family members.  With Poroto being a small town, almost everyone went to the burial.  David’s testimony of confidence in the Lord in the midst of sorrows make an impression one everyone. Sunday and Wednesday evenings we are in the Adonai-Elohim Baptist Church in Florencia de Mora.  The church has property in a strategic location, but they are not yet able to meet in it.  We hope it can be ready for the church’s anniversary in Nov.

I had a fairly heavy load first semester.  This year there isn’t much time to rest during semester break.  The two weeks after first semester finals I taught two modules, one on dispensationalism, and the other on translations of the Bible.

July 28 is Peru’s Independence Day, and this year it is also the inauguration of the newly-elected president, Ollanta Humala.  We ask your prayers that during this new government, believers will continue to have freedom to share the Gospel.

On July 19, our youngest, Timothy, turned 20.  It seems hard to believe!  He plans to attend Faith Baptist Bible College as  a freshman this fall where his brother, Daniel, will be in his second year.

Thanks for your generous support to our family and ministry.
